Title Research Assistant for Prof. Banhazi

Content •Job brief

We are looking for a versatile and highly-organized research assistant to perform research and research related administrative duties for a senior NTU staff (Professor T. Banhazi). In this role, you will be responsible for some aspects of data collection, data entry, limited data analysis, handling of correspondence, note taking and other duties, as directed by Prof. Banhazi. You may also be required to make research related travel arrangements and assist with other research duties when required.
To ensure success as a research assistant, you should exhibit excellent organizational skills and demonstrable experience in similar roles. Accomplished research assistants are intuitive to the needs of the research project and work semi-autonomously to provide project support. You need to be bi-lingual and have a very good ability to communicate in Chinese and English both in writing and verbally.

•Responsibilities
1. Reporting to Prof. Banhazi and performing research support duties.
2. Editing reports, documents, and presentations.
3. Entering data, maintaining databases, and keeping records.
4. Liaising with project partners and coordinating research efforts.
5. Managing internal and external project related correspondence on behalf of Prof. Banhazi.
6. Scheduling appointments, maintaining an events calendar, and sending reminders.
7. Installing data collection tools on farm, following SOP prepared by Prof. Banhazi.
8. Undertaking basic data analysis procedures, such as creating descriptive statistical tables.
9. Devising and maintaining office filing system

•Requirements and skills
1. Proven work experience as a Research Assistant
2. Knowledge of research management procedures
3. MS Office, Chinese and English proficiency
4. Outstanding organisational and time management skills
5. Up-to-date with latest office gadgets and applications
6. Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
8. Discretion and confidentiality
9. Extensive experience in creating documents and spreadsheets, using   office software such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
10. Ability to use excel or other basic statistical programs to undertake limited statistical analysis, such s the creation of descriptive statistical tables
11. Advanced typing, note-taking, recordkeeping, and organizational skills.
12. Exceptional interpersonal and social skills.
13. Limited familiarity with electronic data collection/sensor systems
