The energy sector is responsible for 78.05% of carbon emissions in the world. The global energy consumption for cooling is expected to increase significantly as global warming is projected to intensify. Thus, new practices to cut down energy consumptions while keeping comfortable temperatures should be further explored. In 2018, National Taiwan University’s greenhouse gas emissions were 86,452 tons, and the electricity sector accounted for 91.15% of total emissions. NTU has set up its Sustainable Development Goals and improving energy efficiency on campus is an urgent challenge in the energy sector.
In the spirit of open innovation, citizen science, and participatory creation, the Energy Wise Living Lab (EWLL) aims to unleash participants’ creativity and generate the most energy-efficient air-conditioning practices. EWLL welcomes participation from students to high-level management, local and international students, and employees. You can co-produce self-energy management to address the pressing state of climate emergency!
We have invited Mr. Wim Chang, the Chief Executive Officer of the Delta Electronics Foundation to be the mentor of 2020 EWLL. He will share his valuable experience of household energy saving. His talk at the kick-off workshop will be delivered in Mandarin Chinese.
