Job Announcement

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of National Taiwan University announces one adjunct position in Nordic Languages with preference to Danish. Initial appointment will begin on August 1, 2019. Renewal of contract depends on availability of funds and upon recommendation by the review committee.


Minimum Qualifications:
MA or PhD in teaching Danish/Swedish/Norwegian as a foreign language or a related field. Teaching load is 4 hours per week. University teaching experience a plus.

Salary and Ranks:
Adjunct faculty members are paid by the hour at 735NTD approximately 23USD subject to exchange rates for Assistant Professors and 670NTD approximately 21USD subject to exchange rates for Lecturers subject to 18% income tax for those who hold a foreign passport and reside in Taiwan less than 183 days in a calendar year.

Applicants are requested to email a completed application form available at http://www.forex.ntu.edu.tw/en/news/news.php?Sn=4320 with a CV, a one-page letter of motivation in English and a list of publications including MA thesis and PhD dissertation if applicable to vvagios@ntu.edu.tw by April 30, 2019 for initial screening please use as subject: Application for Nordic Language Position.

Short-listed candidates will be asked to submit by mail the following documents to Prof. Vasileios Vagios, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, National Taiwan University, 1 Roosevelt Rd., Sec. 4, Taipei 10617, Taiwan:
- A description of the language course they will teach an annual course that meets 4 hours a week.
- photocopy of diploma of highest degree
- proof of past/current employment
- a photocopy of R.O.C. ID both sides for foreign passport holders, a photocopy of your passport

Job Interview: Finalists will be interviewed at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of National Taiwan University in the afternoon of Wednesday, May 15.
