Department of Biomechatronics Engineering National Taiwan University The Department of Biomechatronics Engineering in the College of Bioresources and Agriculture at National Taiwan University invites applications for three full-time faculty positions at the level of assistant professor or higher, with one position available in each of the following fields: ◆Smart Agricultural Machinery Smart Agricultural Machinery is the application of various engineering technologies to achieve, but not limited to, the automation, intelligentization, or precision operation of agricultural machinery and equipment, thereby improving the efficiency and precision of agricultural production, alleviating labor shortages, and reducing the risks of farming operations. ◆Circular Agricultural Engineering Circular Agricultural Engineering is the application of various engineering technologies to achieve, but not limited to, the reduction of agricultural resource use, waste-to-resource conversion, energy recirculation, or carbon emission reduction, thereby improving agricultural productivity and advancing environmental sustainability. ◆Biological Monitoring and Control Systems Biological Monitoring and Control Systems is the application of various engineering technologies to achieve, but not limited to, the acquisition of physiological information from plants and animals, monitoring of growth environments, early warning of stress, or real-time regulation, thereby improving the efficiency of biological experiments and enhancing the stability and quality of biological production. (Please indicate in your application materials the field(s) you are applying for; you may apply for a single field or for multiple fields.) The positions are expected to begin on August 1, 2027.
Qualifications: 1.Hold Ph.D. degree in engineering or engineering-related field. Being capable to teach "Applied Mechanics (Dynamics)", "Power Machinery", "Bio-Industrial Machinery", "Design of Automated Systems" or related courses for "Smart Agricultural Machinery" field. Being capable to teach "Physical Chemistry", "Systems Engineering", "Bioprocess Engineering", "Biomaterials" or related courses for "Circular Agricultural Engineering" field. Being capable to teach "Electrical Engineering and Laboratory", "Signal Processing", "Design of Automated Systems", "Principles and Applications of Sensors" or related courses for "Biological Monitoring and Control Systems" field. 2.Show passion on teaching, be willing to cooperate and interact across disciplines, and able to contribute to the continued development of the Department. 3.Demonstrate the strong potential to develop innovative research capacity in the field applied for. 4.Ability to teach in English and equipped with the competence to stand out in international academic research are preferred. Responsibilities: teaching, research, and service. Work location: Department of Biomechatronics Engineering, National Taiwan University. Compensation: The Department provides an excellent teaching and research environment and will actively seek flexible salary incentives from the University for newly appointed faculty.

◆A cover letter (indicating the field(s) and the rank applied for), CV and supporting documents, including date of birth, schools attended (university level and above) and years of graduation, the rank applied for, current position, work experience, a copy of diploma of PhD degree, specialty fields (please provide a statement in less than 250 words), academic achievement, honors, and any other information which might be helpful to assess the applicant’s qualification. For those who have not obtained their degree by the deadline, the latest date to submit the amended documents (degree certificate, etc.) via email or mail is March 1, 2027. ◆Academic transcripts including undergraduate and graduate studies are required when apply for the position of assistant professor. If the degree-granting institution does not require coursework, an official explanation letter from the advisor or the department is required. ◆List and the files (or hard copy)of scientific papers published after August 1, 2020 (Please indicate whether the paper was published in an SCIE Journal). Applicant should specify one SCIE paper (research article) published after August 1, 2022 as a representative journal article (applicant must be the first author or corresponding author) . “Verification of Co-author’s Contribution to the Applicant’s Representative Publication” (http://www.personnel.ntu.edu.tw/News_Content_n_165_s_5117.html) is required if the representative journal article is co-authored. Conference papers, review articles, book reviews, conference proceedings, notes, case reports, short communications, other non-original research articles, and articles not published in peer-reviewed academic journals are not acceptable as the representative publication. Doctoral dissertation published after August 1, 2022 can be considered as a representative research work if applying for assistant professorship. ◆Research proposal and teaching plan. ◆List of referees (names, affiliations, telephone numbers, and email addresses of two referees) and two recommendation letters (should be directly sent by the referees to the contact staff of Faculty Searching Committee before January 8, 2027).
