1.Qualifications and responsibilities The Graduate Institute of Building and Planning at National Taiwan University (NTU-GIBP) invites applications for one full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (rank commensurate with qualifications). To strengthen its interdisciplinary teaching and research capacity in architecture and urban-regional studies, NTU-GIBP seeks to appoint either scholars with outstanding academic achievements or promising early-career scholars with strong potential for future development. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in the following research areas: ■ post-development urban and regional studies; ■ housing studies; ■ climate change, environmental adaptation, and green transformation; ■ urban regeneration. Applicants should also share the NTU-GIBP’s educational mission of cultivating “generalist professionals” in spatial planning and design and be committed to pedagogical approaches that emphasize field-based engagement, practicum-oriented teaching and learning, participatory planning and design, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition to offering courses aligned with their research specializations, candidates who are able to teach environmental planning and design studios and/or courses related to urban design will be given priority consideration. The candidate is expected to maintain an active and internationally visible research agenda, and a doctoral degree in related disciplinaries is required by the time of appointment.
2.Application Materials Applicants are requested to download the faculty application form and the checklist of required submission materials directly from the designated site, and to complete and submit all relevant documents in accordance with the prescribed format and content, providing sufficient evidence that they meet the above qualifications. Submitted materials will generally be retained for reference purposes. Applicants who wish to have their materials returned should indicate this in advance.
3.Review Process ■Initial Review and External Review: Upon receipt of a complete application dossier, NTU-GIBP will conduct an internal preliminary evaluation. Based on the applicant’s field of specialization and overall academic and professional accomplishments, the review committee will determine whether the applicant’s publications will be forwarded for external peer review. ■Invited Academic Presentation: Taking into consideration faculty position availability, the applicant’s disciplinary expertise, and academic and professional standing, NTU-GIBP will decide whether to invite shortlisted candidates who have successfully completed both the preliminary and external reviews to deliver an academic presentation. The invited candidates will present their research agenda and teaching philosophy to faculty members and students. ■Final Decision: The final appointment decision will be made based on a comprehensive evaluation of the applicant’s overall qualifications and performance
