Professor Christopher Claassen
Professor of Political Behaviour, the University of Glasgow
Christopher Claassen is Professor of Political Behaviour at the University of Glasgow and an Associate Editor of Perspectives on Politics. His research spans comparative politics, public opinion, and political psychology, focusing on support for democracy, political identities, and attitudes toward race and immigration. He uses cross-national surveys, experiments, and quantitative methods to study political attitudes and their consequences. His work has appeared in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, and the British Journal of Political Science. He received a Philip Leverhulme Prize in 2021 and is co-authoring Tired of Freedom?, a book on public support for democracy, with Pedro Magalhaes.
