Abstract: Russian Service host of Radio Taiwan International Maria Ostasheva will talk about how a book read in childhood can shape an entire life, and how a beloved novel can be transformed into a podcast that inspires listeners to explore an 18th-century Chinese classic. Using her podcast about "Dream of the Red Chamber" as an example, she will discuss working with literary texts and academic sources, selecting and adapting material for the audience, and the unexpected discoveries that emerged during the process of creating the podcast.
