Details:
1. Applicants:
Bachelor students whoever get admitted to NTU after 2002 may apply for the exemption of the Online English Program if they have fulfilled one of the following requirements:
(1) Passed the first stage of high-intermediate level of the General English Proficiency Test (GEPT)
(2) Scored 72 points or above on TOEFL-iBT
(3) Scored 6.0 or above on International English Language Testing System (IELTS) ACADEMIC
(4) Scored 70 points or above on each English written subtest of Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT)
(5) Passed the B2 level or above on First for School (FCE) of Cambridge Assessment English
(6) Scored 785 points or above on Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).
(7) Obtained a bachelor’s degree or a higher degree in the English-speaking universities which are listed in the Reference List of Foreign Universities of the Ministry of Education
(8) Passed other English proficiency tests which are approved by the Online English Program Planning Office and received the Center for General Education’s approval for reference.

2. Students who have attended group sign-up with NTU for GEPT and passed the first stage of high-intermediate level of GEPT, or passed self-arranged exams held by NTU Foreign Language Teaching and Resource Center, or met the requirements listed on “NTU Guidelines for Freshman English Waiving” do not need to file the application again since they are already put on file for the waiver.

3. Application Time: March 30, 2020 to April 7, 2020

4. Application Procedure:
Please visit myNTU website (https://my.ntu.edu.tw/) and click on the “English Program Apply” in the “Student Section”. Fill out the data and print out the form according to the computer operating procedures. Bring the original and one copy of the qualified score report (or certificate), and the national identification card (or driver’s license, passport) and the original student ID card (only copies should be enclosed if the applicant chooses to mail all documents). Send the documents to Rm. 307, Foreign Languages Teaching and Resource Center (located next to the Computer and Information Networking Center), or mail the documents to the center at Rm. 307, No. 1, Sec. 4, Roosevelt Rd., Taipei City 106. “Apply for an exemption of online English program” should be specified on the envelope.

5. The list of approved exemptions will be uploaded to myNTU website on April 30. No need to apply for the exemption hereafter.
