The Department of Pharmacology/Graduate Institute of Brain and Mind Sciences (GIBMS), College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a trained neurobiologist to perform MOST-funded projects, including an internationally collaborative one, in the laboratory of Prof. Lih-Chu Chiou. This laboratory currently aims to elucidate: 1) The role of orexin system in various neurological and psychiatric disorders; 2) The therapeutic potentials of a subtype-specific GABA-A receptor modulators in neurological and psychiatric disorders by using a combination of pharmacology, electrophysiological, behavioral, genetic and immuonhistochemical approaches. Candidates must have a PhD in neuroscience, biochemistry, pharmacology or biomedical sciences. Experience with immunohistochemistry and animal behavioral techniques is required, and training in electrophysiology or mouse genetics is a plus. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic in scientific research and have a good manuscript writing ability.
