Scientific Staff Position: Silicon Sensor Facility Operator
The NTU High Energy Physics group has an opening for an assistant to take a leading role in the development of large area silicon sensors for particle physics and other applications. This is a 3-year position with the possibility of long-term extension.
The NTUHEP group in collaboration with Academia Sinica, NCU and NTHU groups are performing R&D on large-scale silicon sensors. A small facility capable of assembling and testing such devices is under construction. The post-holder will be responsible for leading the operations in the facility, organizing the work with students and scientists from Taiwan and abroad, and reporting to the Principle Investigator of the project. Although the sensors are primarily intended for the phase 2 of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, industrial imaging applications are also possible.
Requirements: -A Masters (preferred) or PhD degree in Physics or Engineering. -Some post-graduate experience in silicon sensors or related hardware. -Experience with wire bonding and/or electronics preferred. -Knowledge of C++ programming and/or LabView will be a plus. -Good communication and presentation skills.
The position is available immediately. Salary depends on candidate’s experience.
