Title E-Commerce: How Brands Win in Today’s Marketplace

Content Last November, Alibaba’s Single’s Day event broke records – and even the company’s own targets – transacting over $9.3 billion in sales.

The term e-commerce was born during some of the earliest conversations about the internet when the now ubiquitous digital network was just a research project inside the U.S. military. Today, e-commerce is the lifeblood of sales.

Every day, startups and established players alike are coming up with new ways to transact business via the internet. We can now skip the mall to buy clothes and books on Amazon, pay for our real-world purchases with Apple Pay, or split bills with a friend using Square Cash or LINE pay.

In this brave new world, how can brands win? Are direct sales through branded websites dead?

Charles Chang 張佳欽 doesn’t think so. In his most recent post, Mr. Chang led the Global Sales division for Taiwan-based consumer electronics giant HTC.

On Tuesday, May 17, Mr. Chang joins LIVE, sharing his perspective on the near future for branded e-commerce.
