Data Science-Component Engineer
What You'll Do
Component Engineering’s mission is to enable Cisco product excellence by ensuring component manufacturability, quality and reliability.
As a member of Data Science-Component Engineer in the Component Quality and Technology (CQT) organization, you’ll work with teams to drive quality and reliable solutions for Cisco products through:
• Performing the manufactured process and quality data analysis, and finding the opportunity for yield, quality, reliability and productivity improvement
• Analyzing product quality and reliability data, formulating product risk assessment.
• Predictive analytics encompasses a variety of statistical techniques from predictive modeling, machine learning, and data mining that analyze current and historical facts to make predictions about future or otherwise unknown events.

You will be part of the Technology and Quality (T&Q) Organization within the Supply Chain Operations organization. We are a key hub of technical innovation in Cisco. We focus on evaluating and developing new technologies to enable sustained product differentiation. We are a highly empowered team who work on next generation technology to help improve Cisco’s competitive edge. Join us and work with smart people on a variety of smart projects planning creative solutions that bring the future even closer.
You will regularly engage with: Business units as your partners and customers, Supply Chain organization functions including Global Supply Management, Product Operations and Global Manufacturing Organization.
Who You Are
• Master degree in Information Science, Information Engineering, Statistics or Mathematics related
• Rigorous mathematic, statistics, predictive modeling, data mining and machine learning skills, etc.
• You possess strong program management skills and work well in teams
• You must be fluent in speaking and writing in English
• You must possess prior risk analysis or risk management related knowledge (product risk assessment, product quality and reliability assessment, mathematical modeling and scientific computing, etc)
